Ugh, having not inked anything for about two weeks, I'm already rusty. Very boring picture because I'm just trying to figure out the style as well as getting the proportion correct. Hm, this might make a decent postcard, but no one wants my stuff. XD
Yeah, near the end of the booklet there's tight-pants Layton with long, gangly arms. So I kind of avoid that and worked with the more 'rounded' style in the rest of the book.
Good job though, better than I did (especially with Luke!)
Thanks! I'm a bit amused that we picked different style to work with--you went with the rounded style while I wanted to go with the more angular, tight-pants style. I didn't even notice that there were two styles until I start studying it in preparation to draw.
Actually I consider it three different styles- I find the FMV part of the game to be much different than the other character art.
Thought I like the FMV while it's moving, some of the screenshots scare me a bit in their proportions/expression. So I like sticking to the book.
But I find that funny as well. Another reason was that I only found a couple of pictures with Layton and Luke in the style you drew, while there were a lot more in the style I picked up. Granted, they were only half of a body or not really good references, but I don't really like drawing Layton in tight pants, no matter how much of a fan I am XD
Yeah, the animation does have another style, but I didn't count that one. XD The style (especially the head to body proportion) reminded of the old Doraemon cartoons.
I think the tight pants are hilarious. A friend of mind likes to draw characters legs like that. Hehe.
He's awesome. I consider him as one of the best comics artists I know, and he's also one of the few in my friends list who likes Professor Layton (and did a hilarious fanart).
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!

I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
